Acryla Gouache on 24×24 Extra Deep Cradled Wooden Panel. Artwork is sealed with UVB Protectant Satin Varnish for vibrancy and longevity.
This piece was created in honor and reverence for the town on Lake Lure and The Flowering Bridge that was destroyed on 9/27/2024 by Hurricane Helene. I spent my childhood in this town, and these mountains are the inspiration behind everything I am at my core as an Artist. For my 30th birthday I went to visit this childhood memory of mine just one week before the storm hit. I snapped this photo on the bridge, not knowing of course what was headed towards my hometown. In my grief and sorrow of the weeks to follow, this piece began to take shape. It stands as a reminder to what WNC has been through as a people, and homage to all the growth that has happened in the past year in the area when community comes together to grow back better.
Twenty percent of proceeds made from the sale of this painting will be donated to The Lake Lure Flowering Bridge at LLFB.org to help the community rebuild and restore this beautiful garden that is so intrinsic to this mountain community so close to my heart.
Donation will be made in the name of the Artist and the Client who purchases the artwork.
