Passionflower has long stood as a testimonial for Symbiosis. Certain species of this flower are only pollinated by the Hummingbird. It is common for pollinators and plants to coevolve with each other in order to better live alongside each other. This flower is a beautiful example of what the modern world today is gently starting to learn and integrate; balance and unity.
French Quarter Passion is the artists’ rendition of the Maypop Passionflower. Taken from personal reference photos of The French Quarter in April of 2022 on a rainy Louisiana morning. Painted in multiple hour long sittings, and sealed with varnish for longevity.
